Having boldly and perspicaciously interpreted the picture as the door of a crypt, I offer some valuable and educational information on the ubiquity of crypts in modern English. https://sixcrookedhighways.com/2024/04/05/crypt-wackypedia-disambiguation/

All hilarious, but I especially liked the def for cryptic, and of course, crypt-kicking! 😉

Hope I’m not too late for this one–looks too good to pass up. (I’ve been drowning in April prompts🙄)

Is it “stories only”, or can it be poetry? Just curious.

You can write excerpts from the telephone directory or the Bumper Boys Book of British Birds 1957 if that’s what the photo says to you.
It’s supposed to be fun!

Ah, you’re a kind king…I did read the 250 word limit previously…but I’m cursed with the fear of doing something “wrong”, so I ask quesitons to clarify😉 Thank you.

There is no wrong here, except to exceed the 250 word limit. People have been sent to Siberia, or even Kilmarnock, for that dire crime. A second offence will probably have Jenne reaching for yesterday’s croissant with which to pummel your elbow.

Oh dear, wouldn’t want that to happen–Siberia sounds dire…and injury or perishing by croissant could be a lingering, wasting end.😉 I’d forgotten how much fun you are…been away from blogging for awhile. See you later.

[…] The Unicorn Challenge: Write a poem, a song or story inspired by the photo prompt in 250 words or less. Background for my story/song. I was watching a YouTube video and heard a sad woeful tune. There were no lyrics but in the background I heard a door slamming and footsteps. I didn’t like the noises but then used the sounds to help make up my own words. I don’t remember the video and only recalled it when The Unicorn Challenge provided a photo of a door. […]

Greetings, friends. Some of you know, others do not. We had a death in the family last week … my husband’s twin brother passed away on Tuesday. I’ve taken some time off from writing and hope to be back with you next time. You may read about our loss here if you are so inclined. Thank you for your thoughts.
